Hey there, fellow bowlers! Today, I want to dive deep into the Teamsheet page, a powerful tool that helps you manage your match selections with ease. Whether you're an administrator, selector, or a member, this page is your go-to destination for all things related to your upcoming fixtures.
Let's start with the basics. The Teamsheet page is where you can see the selection of players for a specific match. You'll also find the list of available players - the members who have made themselves available for selection. To ensure a match is eligible for members to mark their availability, you'll need to set the number of rinks on the fixture to a number between 1 and 6.
Now, let's explore the key features of this page:
Selection Management:
The "Selection" menu button is your gateway to managing the selection process. You can create a new selection or copy the selection from a previous match.
Selections start in draft mode, and you can publish them once they are finalised. Only published fixtures can be seen by regular members.
To select players, simply click on each position and choose the member from the drop-down list.
The rink header button allows you to change the rink name, the number of players, or enter the rink result after the match has been played.
Lovebowls will automatically calculate the overall match results based on the individual rink results.
Availability and Confirmation:
Selectors and Administrators can add or remove available players, either individually or in bulk, using the buttons above the available list.
Once the selection has been published, members can confirm their availability by ticking their name on the teamsheet. Selectors and administrators can also tick a member's name if they are unable to do it themselves.
For away games, members can indicate if they would like to car share or arrange their own transport.
Communication and Printing:
From the selection menu, selectors can email members about the fixture in various ways, such as sending a team announcement or a match report.
You can click on a player's name and choose to make them the captain of the fixture.
Players can be removed from the selection or withdrawn. Withdrawing a player means they are no longer available for that fixture, and it is recorded in the statistics with a small penalty to their fairness score.
The "Next" and "Prev" buttons allow you to navigate to the next and previous fixture in the current competition.
You can email yourself a condensed, text version of the teams (or the match result for past fixtures) by choosing the appropriate option from the selection menu.
Lastly, you can access printable teamsheet and availability sheet pages, which are simple, club-branded layouts designed to fit on a single A4 page.
I hope this guide has helped you understand the power of the Teamsheet page. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to post them in the comments, and I'll be happy to lend a hand. Happy bowling!
