Hi All,

Hope you are all enjoying this year's Bowls season although the weather has not been so good for us over the past month.

Match selection - For those of you that have joined the RAFA 381 Bowls website you will now be able to put your names down for matches using the online website facility https://lovebowls.co.uk/club/rafa381bowls

This facility goes live from today................

Just login to your account (top right of screen) and on the home page click into section "Next Fixture", tick the box "Available". Any problems just telephone me 07596 444693 (Ian).

We will continue to have the match sheets at the club for those that prefer to use this method. Both the match sheets and website will be monitored for matches going forward.

Those selected for a match will get an email in the normal way confirming.

All Day Competitions - a report from Tony Wells our Competitions Secretary;

The Drawn Pairs

Eight pairs started off in the morning and the four winning pairs played the semi finals in the afternoon.

These saw Dave Garlick and Joan Wells overcome Rod Fraser and Jenny Turner 17-7 while Lynn Goode and Neil Kirby had a convincing 30-9 win over Shirley Kitchen and Billie Carter.

Should make for a good final in September.

The Drawn Mixed Triples

The next all day competition is the Mixed Drawn Triples on Sunday the 6th August 2023. This starts at 10.00am and goes into the afternoon for all players. There are two groups of three and the winners play for the Cup on the finals day in September while the runners up play for the plate.

Will all players please initial your name on the sheet on our Competitions Board to confirm your availability. Any questions or problems please telephone Tony.

Other Competitions - The second rounds of competitions should have been completed by the 30th July 2023. The next round should be played by the 20th August.

Remember, if your name is on the top of the results list then you are responsible for arranging the match, finding a marker and also the booking of the rink.

Booze Busters - Our Friday night league.

Top 3;

1st - Arsenal

2nd Joint second place goes to Bognor Rocks and Crystal Palace

Followed by;

4th - Brentford

5th - Millwall

6th - Chelsea

Please note that Round 3 of the Boozebusters that was cancelled on 14th July due to the adverse weather conditions will now be played at 5.00pm on the 8th September (reserve date pre-allocated). If you were due to play on that evening then please note this re-arranged date.

The Lorrimer Cup - Takes place on the 20th August 2023. Come along to watch if you are not playing. A great day and charitable fund raising for a good cause. Helpers on the day needed and raffle prizes. Further information available on the Club Noticeboard and from Hilly.
