We trust you are well and are once again enjoying a season of outdoor bowling.

We would like to invite you to enter a Triples Team to our Bowls Section, The Lorimer ‘Wings’ Appeal Open 2023, during which we raise funds for the RAFA ‘Wings’ Charity which supports the Welfare of our RAF Veterans.

Kevin Holland has kindly agreed to sponsor this Competition again and John Haines (Member) has agreed a generous donation on behalf of Sytech Security Ltd..

Although Irene Lorimer, Life Vice President, died in March 2020, her family continue to support the event as Irene had, since her husband, Jim died. He had been a founder Member of the RAFA 381 Bowls Section and in 2023 we will remember them both for their considerable contribution to 381 Branch and Club.

The entry fee per person is £10.00 to include the ‘spider’, rink fees and an evening meal, Total £30 per Team. If Guests would like to attend, please add £5:00pp for their Meal. If there are any dietary requirements, please specify them on the entry form.

On Sunday 20thAugust, the RAFA Club in Waterloo Square will be open from 11:30 to enjoy meeting friends and you are welcome to bring a snack to enjoy with a drink from the Bar before registering in your Team in the Foyer between 1pm and 1.30p.m, to be ready at 1.45p.m for a Photograph on the Green followed by a ‘Spider’ and the start of play. At approximately 6.00p.m we will have the Meal, Presentation and Raffle at RAFA 381 Branch Club, Waterloo Square, PO21 1TE.

Play will be on a round robin basis, consisting of 4 games of 6 ends. The rules, scoring sheets etc., will be given on the day to the Team Captain.

There will be Raffles including Irene’s popular ‘Whisky Draw’. Please remember your £1 coins to support the Charity.
